Welcome to our site! On this site we will walk you through modern day examples of discrimination. As well as showing you examples from today, we will connect discrimination and the ignorance that comes with it to literary pieces from older times. Some texts we will connect with are Oedipus Rex by Sophocles, Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi, Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, and Night by Elie Wiesel. In all of these books, there is discrimination in some form, whether it is against women in revolutionary Iran or against Jews during the Holocaust, we will show you how people have been discriminated against throughout history and even in modern day. By showing cases of discrimination throughout time, we will hope to be able to help stop it from happening today.
